Taking our learning outdoors!
We had lots of fun in Grace Park ETNS this week celebrating Outdoor Classroom Day. Luckily the weather was great and we enjoyed spending time outdoors.
For English we used stones to practice our letter formation. We even practiced our blending to make some words!
We have been revising our sorting skills in Maths, so sorting Autumn items outside was a great idea for Outdoor Classroom Day. We sorted conkers, acorns and autumn leaves. It was great fun, and we even found a worm to join in on the action!
We enjoyed an outdoor mindfulness walk through our lovely environment at Childvision. We talked about all the plants and animals and how to look after them.
To finish off our Outdoor Classroom Day activities we had P.E. stations on the pitch with Conor. We played games, ran relays and practiced rolling and throwing a ball.
Earlier in the week we continued to practice our balancing skills!
Outdoor Classroom Day was a huge success and we can't wait until the next one.
Check out some of the other things happening in school this week...
We collected bags of leaves to make some leaf collage hedgehogs. We really liked using PVA glue to stick the leaves. Our super work is hanging in our classroom wondows for everyone to see!
In our literacy stations we have been revising all of our sounds. We played games like picture matching and 'Roll and Write'.
With just two weeks to go until Autumn Break we will be very busy learning about lots of festivals such as harvest, Diwali, Samhain and Hallowe'en.
