Parent GuardianTeacher Association (PGTA)
The school has an active and engaged Parent Guardian Teacher Association (PGTA). The
purpose of the PGTA is to provide a structure through which the parents and guardians of
children attending Grace Park Educate Together National School can work together for the
best possible education for their children. The PGTA works with the Principal, staff and
Board of Management to build effective partnership between home and school. The PGTA is
also a support for parents in the school.
The PGTA suggests and/organizes extra-curricular activities – while these events are aimed
at developing the school community they are also used to raise money for the school (such
as the Bake Sale and Table Quiz). The PGTA can also invite speakers to address the parents
on issues which are topical or relevant, such as talks on internet safety.
All parents or guardians of children attending Grace Park Educate Together National School
will be deemed to be members of the PGTA.
At the AGM each year a PGTA Committee is elected – the Committee comprises of:
ï‚· Representatives from each class
ï‚· Parent nominees who have been elected to the Board of Management
ï‚· Teachers’ representative
ï‚· Chair, Secretary and Treasurer (who may also be class reps)
